Moher Celtic A 0-8 Newmarket Celtic A
Four weeks since their last Premier Division outing, the drawn game away to Avenue United, normal service was resumed as the A team swept aside Moher Celtic A in Lahinch.
With Liam Murphy away, there was big question marks over whether his sidekick Davy Ryan (also Johnny's brother) would be able to fill his boots.
The players didn't seem fazed and first half goals from Eoin Hayes, David McCarthy and David Reidy had the visitors well in control.
With two in two games, Reidy has settled in comfortable sparking conversation on local bar stools whether the Newmarket Celtic curse might strike Clare's Senior Hurlers again.
If Reidy continues in this form, Donal Moloney and Gerry O'Connor will have to go in search of a new free taker for 2018.
After the break, McCarthy finished out his hat trick and added a fourth for good measure while Daithi O'Connell got in on the act and bagged two for himself.
Davy Ryan survives until next week at least.
